Hornsey Lane
This is a site where the existing context is so beautiful that only the subtlest of interventions would be required. We decided to add clarity and definition to very natural space and designed a central lawn surrounded by lush woodland edge planting. We have created a destination point at the rear, which will consist of an office studio and a soft seating area. Our presentation to the client included two options incorporating a water element in two different perspectives – one with a Japanese contemporary twist and another featuring water wall chutes into a small pool. Planting is soft and dreamy but also strongly textural featuring specimen ornamental trees to support the woodland theme, reminiscent of a natural Japanese planting scheme.
