Point Hill
It was extremely important to create a sense of visual flow from the kitchen, past the light well, into the garden and beyond. To facilitate this I utilised clear glass balustrade work and placed subtly lit Borinda papyrifera along the back wall. These plants are slender in form with a small leaf so as not to block light and offer a strong sense of verticality, drawing the eye upwards and beyond the boundary of the property.
Buff green sandstone was chosen as I felt it would be most in keeping with the contemporary feel of the courtyard whilst echoing the traditional twinning of this material with London yellow stock Victorian properties.
